Welcome to the practice who treats your pet like one of the family!

Ark Veterinary Clinics were founded in 1994 and have been serving the local community ever since.

We treat all small animal and exotic pets and have two vets with extensive experience and knowledge of all exotic species we are happy to see all your reptiles, birds and small mammals.  We look forward to welcoming you to the practice but ask that you call prior to your first appointment to ensure we have the most appropriate vet available to treat your pet. There is ample parking behind the practice.

Madonna is the Clinical Lead for the Selective Exotics Rotation for the Final year vet students from Glasgow Vet School. Final year students who are particularly interested in Exotics work in the clinic with Madonna, Krissy, Laura, and our fantastic team for a three week rotation. The practice is really proud of being a key component of training the next generation of exotic vets to care for our furry, feathery, and scaley members of our family!

Funeral details of our much loved friend and colleague Ken McClean BVMS MRCVS have been confirmed today. Kens funeral will take place on friday the 1st March 1.45pm at Park Church in Uddingston, onto Daldowie Crematorium at 3pm. As always, our loves, thoughts, and prayers are with Kens family, friends, and loved ones.

The practice will be open in the morning but will close for the funeral and will reopen with some of the team 3.15pm. During the funeral, repeat prescriptions will not be able to be ordered or collected. In the case of emergency, Elaine Shaws team at Brannock Vets have been outstanding and have offered to see any emergencies for us although they ask that anyone phones them first on: 01698 861 180. We appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.

It is with great sadness that I have to announce the sudden and unexpected death of our friend and colleague Ken McClean on the 5/2/24. Ken graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 1984. He worked in Northen Ireland before returning to Scotland, working in a few practices, the PDSA, before settling in the Ark Veterinary Clinics (Ltd as it became) in 1994, which he co owned. A fantastic vet, surgeon, mentor, boss, and friend, we considered ourselves blessed to have had him in our lives. Those who knew Ken will remember his sharp sense of humour, his passion for running, and his amazing musical talent. He loved his family deeply and leaves behind a wife and three daughters and our love and prayers are with his family. Our team will never be the same. He touched the lives of so many people and animals and he will never be forgotten. Quite simply he was a legend. 💔

We have a memorial book available at reception for anyone who wishes to write a favourite memory or message about our much missed friend and colleague Ken McClean. Ken was a rarity, a truely outstanding human and a complete gentleman with a fantastic sense of humour. As always our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and loved ones. For anyone who wishes to donate in memory of Ken his family have chosen the Guide Dog Association. Ken loved all animals but dogs in particular were firmly embedded in his heart. Donations may also be given in to the practice and I will ensure they are sent to the Guide Dogs Association.
